2023 Canadian CPA Profession Compensation Study Results

All reports for the 2023 Canadian CPA Profession Compensation study are now available.

Compensation data is based on 9,861 voluntary responses from members regarding their 2022 compensation. Of these, 9,608 resided in Canada and 253 resided abroad. 

Here are some of the highlights:

  • Findings from the 2023 Canadian CPA Profession Compensation study reveal that CPAs holding the Chartered Professional Accountant designation and having at least three years post-designation experience have a median compensation of $143K.
  • The previously reported compensation levels for 2020 (from the 2021 study) among members with at least three years post-designation experience had median compensation of $128K, showing a 12% increase in median compensation.
  • From a provincial standpoint, the median compensation within the provinces was highest in Alberta ($153K).
